Education Program

The purpose of our education program is to inspire and empower bright-minded children that come from rural and low-income communities to reach their full potential.  Through our courses and cultural and academic experiences our intention is to improve the quality of education and opportunities of our students.  We focus on English and STEM.

WHY IS THIS IMPORTANT

Average education attainment level in Mexico is 8.8 years

Currently, the average education attainment level in Mexico is 8.8 years, on average, low income kids don’t complete their secondary education. Rural communities, more often than not, don’t have the resources to set kids on a higher trajectory.  Casa Caridad wants to help provide those resources to give children the tools they need to higher their education level that lead to a better future.

We want to empower kids from rural communities with teaching them the most relevant skills for the 21st century.  In Mexico the average education attainment level is 8.8 years and  México is the 15th country with the largest wealth to income gaps in the world.   

We believe that by providing after school academic programs that inspire, mentor and teach strong fundamental skills, we can provide our students with the building blocks to a better future.

Why  english and STEM?  

 

English

  • Studies have shown that learning a foreign language at a young age increases critical thinking skills and enhances creativity.  Improved cognitive skills and the fluency in English will help our students, and keep them away from bad influences.

STEM

  • STEM skills are are competitions of the 21st century. This is important because future jobs require STEM knowledge. According to the DaVinci Institute, by 2030, 2,000 million conventional jobs will be replaced by jobs related to STEM.

Learn more about our Programs

At this moment, we have two programs available: English Program and our newest edition, STEM.

English

The English Program is offered at several locations in neighboring towns around Queretaro, Mexico.  They are offered on weekends throughout the school year and also have a summer English program. This program is available for students ranging at 8 through 12 years of age.  There are about 15 students to each class so that students have the attention needed to work at their best.

STEM

The STEM Program started as a summer program, but in 2019, Casa Caridad extended the program to the school year. This program is offered on weekends and often collaborates with other Tech companies that offer the most updated technologies to inspire the children and open their horizons to a bright future in a  fast-paced world of technology and how it affects the world today. We incorporate Math, Programming, Engineering Projects and Field Trips to local Technology companies. 

 

In 2020, we won Salesforce’s Future Ready Award for our STEM program work in collaboration with our Salesforce Mexico City volunteers. 

Long term impact

Per the United Nations development goals, a quality education helps improve upward socioeconomic mobility, fosters tolerance between people and contributes to a more peaceful society.

For our students, English and STEM skills will allow them to be competitive in Mexico and abroad, opening the door to better opportunities and a more fulfilling future.  Our current students in the state of Queretaro, will be able to take advantage of opportunities in the capital, Santiago de Queretaro, where there are good universities and an international economy based on IT, aircraft manufacturing, and more.
